Anti-discrimination and unconscious bias workshop

As part of the SFB1638, we are offering an anti-discrimination & unconscious bias workshop on Feb. 10 2026 at Heidelberg University Biochemistry Center

Structural discrimination and bias affect academic life more often than we think, even if we have never personally experienced them. This workshop is for everyone in our community: those affected by discrimination, those who have seen it, and those who want to learn more to be better colleagues and bystanders.

Led by social scientist and coach Sophie Irmey, participants will learn about the dynamics of discrimination & unconscious bias and how to respond with confidence. You will also self-reflect on your own biases and build practical strategies to deal with discrimination. You can find out more about the workshop here: https://sophieirmey.de/meine-angebote/#workshops-und-trainings.

Date & time: Tuesday Feb 10, 2026, 9:00 - 15:00 (lunch break around 12:30)
Location: BZH, INF 328
Language: English

To register or ask questions, please send an email to natalie.friemel(at)bzh.uni-heidelberg.de. I will confirm your registration.
