Heidelberg University and its partner institutions in CRC 1638 are committed to gender equality, ethnic and cultural diversity and a family-friendly working environment. It received the TOTAL E-QUALITY award in 2017 and 2021, and has been continuously evaluated at level 4 (the highest level possible) according to the DFG's research-oriented Equality and Diversity standards.
